Project 2019
Building upon the success of the initial phase of the project in 2014, Camerata Wales are now working in partnership with the Welsh Proms to host and further promote the fledgling archive at a far more prominent level, via Wales' national classical music festival.
With renewed support from the Arts Council of Wales, and working in conjunction with our new academic partner Swansea University, it is proposed to offer a second Penblwyddi project, with greater emphasis on lasting digital, rather than live, access. It is proposed that the focal works of the project will however be performed live in concert, as well as being recorded for permanent free widespread online access. It is envisaged that this single live performance will become the basis of an annual Welsh Proms Fringe event, to be undertaken each year as part of an expanded Welsh Proms.
